LENTEN GOSPEL GIVING
The traditional foundation for Lenten practice rests on three supports: PRAYER–FASTING–ALMSGIVING. To assist
families in the third of these supports, we
again participate in LENTEN GOSPEL GIVING. Each
week all members of the parish are asked to
bring ONE item with them to Mass. The
gifts will be donated to various needy causes,
some to which we are already committed as a
parish. Please read the list below for each
week's Scripture and its item. There will be a
reminder in the bulletin each week.
FIRST
SUNDAY OF LENT—FEBRUARY 20/21
"One
does not live on bread alone.” (Luke 4:1-13)
Bread is
made from grain–please bring a box of
PASTA for
Pine Street Inn.
SECOND
SUNDAY OF LENT—FEBRUARY 27/28
"His
face changed in appearance and
His
clothing became dazzling white.” (Luke
9:28-36)
Dazzling
and radiant signify cleanliness–please bring
BAR
SOAP
for
Tewksbury
State Hospital.
THIRD
SUNDAY OF LENT—MARCH 6/7
"…a land
flowing with milk and honey."
(Exodus
3:1-8; 13-15)
Milk and

for
Neighbors in Need.
FOURTH
SUNDAY OF LENT—MARCH 13/14
"They
ate of the produce of the Land in the form
of unleavened cakes and parched grain."

FIFTH
SUNDAY OF LENT—MARCH 20/21
"…for I
put water in the desert and rivers in the
wasteland

PALM
SUNDAY OF THE PASSION—MARCH 27/28
