The Youth Choir is comprised of young people in grades 2 through 12 (ages 7 to 18). It is not necessary to read music or have any musical training, although some members do. No audition is needed. Singers and instrumentalists are welcome at any time during the year. The choir performs seasonal outreach to nursing homes a few times a year. Parents may become involved by providing snacks, taking a turn as a rehearsal monitor, or chaperoning field trips.
The Youth Choir sings at the 9:00 am Mass on Sunday and rehearses on Thursday evening from 5:30-7:00 pm. Some members are trained to become cantors for the Children's Liturgy of the Word and some high school aged members are trained to become church cantors (additional training provided).
This music group ministers at the 11:00 am Mass on Sunday morning from Parish Feastday Weekend ( mid-September) through the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (early to mid-June). Auditions are not required. Rehearsals take place on Thursday evening from 7:30 -9:00 pm.
The Ladies Schola sings at the 4:00 pm Mass on Saturday during the seasons of Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter. They also sing on major Feasts and Solemnities, and occasionally join in “combined choir” events. Rehearsals are usually on Wednesday evenings during the “singing seasons” from 7:30–9:00 pm.
