As a Catholic, it’s likely that you hear the word “discernment” and assume that it refers to part of the process for choosing a religious vocation. And once “discernment” and “vocation” pop up, you’re done—that’s the stuff of someone else’s life. But the truth is discernment is the process of listening to and responding to the will of God in our lives and it is for all of us, in all walks of life and in all of our life decisions.
