We need volunteers to prepare food for the Lazarus House soup truck run on Sunday, February 23
. Volunteers will prepare food at home and drop off at church in the Driscoll Hall kitchen next weekend as you would for Bread & Roses.
Here is what we need:
4 gallons of soup
— If you want to make soup, Dave will email you the recipe. All the soup volunteers need to use the same recipe so that when all the little batches get combined it works. Each recipe makes about one half gallon and we need a total of 4 gallons. We ask that you sign on for at least one half gallon batch. You can sign on for more if you like. Soup should be delivered in containers that you do not need returned.
10 dozen sandwiches
—sandwiches should be individually wrapped; for the February 23 date we are making ham & cheese.
10 dozen baked goods
—baked goods should be wrapped as individual servings; you can make whatever you want but if you use nuts, please label wrapping.
—need someone to help pack up and then drop off the food at the Holly Street shelter in Lawrence, on Sunday afternoon, February 23.
You, your family, your group, etc. are welcome to take on more than one batch of soup or more than a dozen sandwiches or baked goods. Choose the option that works for your means.
Dave Dlesk will be coordinating our efforts this month. If you are interested in volunteering to provide soup, sandwiches, or baked goods, please email Dave
