Baptism (of infants and young children) is celebrated during Sunday Eucharist at St. Robert's on certain designated Sundays (or Saturdays). Prior to the Baptism, parents (and godparents if they're local) must attend a preparation session at church and godparents must provide either a certificate of eligibility (which they can request from their parish) or a copy of their Confirmation certificate.
Here is some additional information godparents for Baptism:
You may ask either one or two people to be godparents for your child. If you ask two, one must be male and the other female (Church law does not permit either 2 male or 2 female godparents).
If the godparents-to-be are Catholic, they must be fully intiated Catholics (ie. they must have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist).
Catholic godparents must provide the parish office with either a certificate of eligibility (a standard form which they can request from their parish) or a copy of their Confirmation certificate.
You may have one Confirmed Catholic godparent and one Christian witness. The Christian witness is someone who is a Baptized member of another Christian denomination.
