In the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, or Lumen gentium, the Second Vatican Council set forth what is known as the “universal call to holiness.” That is, we are all called to live holy lives. But far from a call to perfection, this is a call to deepening your relationship with God, to being open to the work of a loving God in your life, and to carrying that love forward in your actions. In this section, we will feature perspectives, insights, and stories from members of the St. Robert’s parish community. We are grateful to everyone sharing their thoughts and are mindful that there are hundreds of other stories out there, too. How do you respond to the universal call to holiness? That’s a question we should ask ourselves anew from time to time. We hope some of the people you meet here or some of the thoughts you read will inspire you to think about your own journey and your path to discovering how God is calling you.
